hey, weird phrases. i actually know something about that. like the word guy, it was actually the name of this british dude, guy fawkes, who tried to like.. get rid of the parliament by blowing it up or something.. and they caught him and burned him and stuff, and then people started calling each other guys, and it used to be a bad thing, and now it's so common everyone says it. and the british people celebrate guy fawkes night/bonfire night every year by.. blowing stuff up. i don't know.. haha. anyway, there's my weird little addition to the discussion. go me!

awww poor ash... i shall try 2 help u... ^^;
One day, while tryin 2 brag about sumthing 2 myself, i said the phrase "eat your heart out." i thought nothing of it.
then i paused.
& thought about it.
because, honestly, thats a very strange phrase. where did it come from? im aware that it means to be jealous & sort of like a "ha-ha look at ME! me me me! not you!!" kind of saying. but seriously... doesnt anyone else think its a bit of an odd saying? o0
i wonder where it came from... early cannibalistic ppl? who, when jealous of rivals, would... well, eat their hearts? or maybe it came from war? not like, civil war times. but like, CAVEMAN war times ((ok not THAT far back, but pretty far back in the day)) where they would... eat the hearts of their enemies?
has that ever happened? i dont know much war history...
or maybe its just a phrase saying that if a person is so jealous they can go eat their own heart.
which brings me to....
...how would u like 2 have been the 1st person 2 use THAT phrase? o0
do u have any idea of how strange of looks you would get when you said that. it would just be like ". . . . . . ." *back away slowly* & then people would have 2 find it catchy enough to pass it on. & keep sayin it.
do u think its catchy? would u have passed it on? 0_o
this could lead 2 discussions of many odd little english/american sayings....
but 4 now, i shall go 2 sleep.
no dr pepper does that...
oye..

who's the chocolate genie?
who is the chocolate genie...?
why is it that the phrase 'who is the chocolate genie?' just randomly comes into my head...? i mean, i suppose that is a good question to ask: "who is the chocolate genie?" but i mean, come now: is it honestly normal for a person to just look at the ceiling and wonder "Hmm... You know, I really want to know who the chocolate genie is...". Of course, it might also be a bit abnormal to wonder why a person just wondered something... but that can also just as easily be taken as a sign of a person who thinks to much. or has too much free time.
the first step in my analysis of this seeminly random thought was of what i was doing at the time of this silent question: walking into my room. but even if i knew what my actions were at the time, i still can't conclude a veritable answer. why not? because i don't understand my thought in the first place, leading to...
step two: thought breakdown. let's take this phrase, 'who's the chocolate genie?' and go through it. the sentence is compromised of four words, five words if you consider the contraction. who, beginning a question of "what person...?", the, an article, chocolate, a food/flavor but can also be considered a color as well, and genie, a mystical wish-granting magic man. starting with who: i was obviously at the time trying to understand something; trying to find an unidentified person in my knowledge. the genie that i speak of is chocolatey, either colored that way, or flavored that way, or has mystical powers over such things consisting of the processed cocoa bean treat. and to add to this, this "chocolate genie" is not only just a "chocolate genie", but "the chocolate genie". meaning there is only one... the connotation can also be translated as this chocolate genie has great powers to be divine enough to be the only chocolate genie. because this genie can now be considered potent and strong with his chocolate powers, it can only be wise enough to conclude that the subtitle "chocolate" cannot simply denote his look or flavor, but his mystical, magical genie powers... powers over chocolate, that is... knowing this, we can now go on to...
step three: thought explanation. now that we understand what i am trying to find out, the new question is... why am i trying to find this out? why do i want to know who the mystical, magical man with mystical, magical powers over chocolate is? thinking too hard into it will simply hurt one's head: it's actually very simple. why not?? i mean, if i knew there was something powerful, mystical, and magical around... i mean, i'd want to know who it was too! after solving that, the last step is now...
step four: thought trigger. finding out why i suddenly had this urge to wonder of this "chocolate genie". going back to the first step, i was walking into my room. now, keeping in mind that the only thing that i can think of that even remotely relates to anything chocolatey or genie-like, would be the chocolate chip cookie i had at the reception of a ceremony that i had recently attended. if we analyze this, we can clearly see that the chocolate genie has to be the person from whom i recieved the chocolate chip cookie from at the reception: after all, with hunger nagging my stomach, my mind must have been able to relate "handing a person a cookie" to "utilizing magical, mystical genie-like powers to grant a poor peasant's wish for nourishment".
and that, my friends, answers your (and my) question of "who's the chocolate genie...". thank you. deuce~
